ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

Big Sugar Bakeshop opened in 2006 with the desire to become a friendly neighborhood bakery specializing in American-style baked goods and custom cakes. We continue the tradition today by offering childhood favorites and baking everything from scratch using the finest ingredients. We still crack cage-free eggs, our dairy comes from a local provider who treats their cows humanely. We also use ingredients that do not contain animal by-products so that’s why you won’t see marshmallow items in our cases. We now offer vegan and gluten-free options using the same fine ingredients. We use imported chocolate from Belgium and France and yes, can you most definitely taste the difference. In 2014, we opened a new location in a great neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles.

In 2016, Clay Williams joined our bakery family and elevated our custom cake expertise with his ability to build anything out of cake. With a team of talented cake decorators, Clay’s daily creations are featured on our Instagram page.

Since opening, it has always been a priority for Big Sugar Bakeshop to give back by supporting local schools, nonprofit organizations, and local fundraising events. This year, we are proud sponsors of many local schools, LA Family Housing, Children’s Hospital, Interfaith Food Pantry, The Midnight Mission, numerous animal rescues and many children-run philanthropic events are to name a few.

Please send your donation request to info@bigsugarbakeshop.com and we will contact you. Due to the significant number of requests we receive, we are sorry we are unable to personally respond to every request.

It has truly been an honor to be part of our customers’ celebrations by supplying dessert or a special cake. From baby showers to weddings, everything is made with love and attention to detail. Thank you for all the wonderful years and memories. Mary Odson, Owner
